Rant: I've been cutting dados backwards for like a year

I was showing my buddy how I do a drawer bottom groove on my table saw, and he just stared at me. He said, 'Nancy, you know you're supposed to push the wood through with the good side up, right?' I had the plywood face down the whole time, fighting tear-out on every single piece. I felt so dumb. How did I not notice the blade was chewing up the pretty side? Anyone else have a 'duh' moment with a basic cut?

Man, that's a classic case of overthinking it. You get so focused on the setup and the fence that the obvious thing, like which way is up, just vanishes. I've definitely been there with other simple tasks.

Yeah, it's like your brain just shorts out on the easy stuff sometimes.
