I always thought pocket hole jigs were just for quick fixes until a guy at the lumber yard in Boise told me he builds entire kitchen face frames with them.

Wow, a whole house? That's a lot of faith in some little screws and angled holes. I guess if it works for @reese177's uncle, more power to him, but building a whole kitchen frame that way seems... risky. I'd be worried about it holding up over time with all that weight and use. It just feels like a shortcut for something that shouldn't be one.
