Am I the only one who thinks soft-close hinges are overrated?

I installed soft-close hinges on a full kitchen remodel in Austin back in March and honestly, the drawers feel sluggish compared to the standard ones I put in my own shop 5 years ago. Everyone raves about the quiet close, but I've had three clients complain the doors don't stay shut all the way unless you give them a firm push. Has anyone else noticed a drop in reliability with these newer mechanisms, or am I just stuck in my old ways?

Does anyone else find themselves slamming soft-close drawers just to be sure, or is that just my stubborn reflex kicking in? Guess I'm the old dog who likes his doors to scream "closed" instead of whisper it.
