I was at a closing in Tampa and the seller's agent tried to skip the final walkthrough

This was last fall, and we were about to sign for a condo. The seller's agent said the walkthrough was just a formality and we should skip it to close faster. I insisted on doing it anyway, and we found a broken AC unit they hadn't mentioned. It cost $3,500 to fix. Now I tell everyone to never let anyone rush you past that last check. Has anyone else had a walkthrough save them from a big surprise?

Check the water pressure in every sink and shower. A weak flow can signal hidden plumbing issues that are easy to miss.

Good lord, that's a nightmare. Skipping the walkthrough is like buying a car without turning the key. Smart move standing your ground, that saved you a ton of money and hassle. @taylorcarr has a great point about checking water pressure too, it's all the little stuff that adds up. People get so focused on the finish line they forget to look for cracks in the track.
