Just realized my cable testers were lying to me for months

I was troubleshooting a slow charge on my laptop in Portland and swore the cable was fine since my $15 tester said it passed. Then a buddy pointed out the tester only checks continuity, not actual voltage drop under load. Swapped to a proper 100W USB-C meter from Amazon and sure enough, that Anker cable was dropping to 12W. Anyone else found their cheap testers give false confidence?
