Went from a rats nest to a near perfect build in about 5 years

I looked at my first PC build from 2019 the other day and it was just cables everywhere, but my latest one has zero visible wires except the GPU power. What made you guys finally get serious about cable management, a better case or just getting fed up with the mess?

Yeah the PSU shroud was a game changer for me too, basically let me pretend the bottom half of my case didn't exist. Took me about four rebuilds and a lot of swearing before I figured out you can just route cables behind the motherboard tray instead of letting them fight for airflow. Still have one ziptie that's been there since 2020 because I'm too lazy to unwrap the whole mess.

...and what was the breaking point that actually got you to stop putting it off? For me it was building in a case with a PSU shroud, suddenly all that tangled nonsense had a hiding spot and I felt stupid for not doing it sooner. Did yours come down to finding the right case or did you just finally snap one afternoon and tear it all apart?

Buddy of mine finally caved after his GPU fan started eating his front panel connector wires.
