Guy at Micro Center in Denver talked me out of a 360mm AIO and he was right
I was about to drop $160 on an AIO for my 7800X3D last month and the guy at the parts counter told me to just grab a $40 Peerless Assassin and use the savings on fans. He was right, my temps never go past 72C under load, and my cable management is way cleaner without two fat tubes running across the board. Anyone else get saved from a dumb purchase by a random employee?
Read a thing on Tom's Hardware a while back where they tested like 15 coolers on a 7800X3D and the cheap tower ones all landed within a few degrees of the big AIOs. That chip just doesn't put out enough heat to need a radiator the size of a keyboard. Part counter guys at Micro Center seem to know their stuff more than the average big box employee.
