Our family switched to a "no-buy" week every month and it actually worked
We were blowing our grocery budget every single week, but I noticed the real problem was impulse runs for snacks and treats. After three months of doing one week with zero spending except milk and bread, we saved about $80 a month without really feeling it. Has anyone else tried a partial pause like this or do you think it's too strict for a normal household?

My husband ate all the snacks in the first two days, haha.

Wait, did he eat all the snacks from the stash you were supposed to be avoiding, or did he go out and buy new ones? That's a whole different level of chaos right there! Honestly, if my partner did that I'd probably just hide a secret snack drawer somewhere in the house. I feel like the no-buy week would last maybe two days in my house before someone caves and grabs a bag of chips.
