Hit my grocery budget goal 4 months in a row with the same 12 meals
I used to wander the store with no list and grab whatever looked good, then wonder why I was at $120 a week for just me. Back in March I sat down and wrote out 12 dinners that all share ingredients like rice, beans, chicken, and frozen veggies. Now I buy the same core stuff every Sunday, and my trips come to around $65 to $70 each week, sometimes less if I skip the snack aisle. The big change was meal prepping on Sunday mornings for about an hour, which I used to think was too much work. Last week I even had $9 left over that I put into a jar for fun stuff, and that never happened before. I still eat out maybe once a weekend, but I plan for it by checking the store flyer first. Has anyone else tried limiting their rotation this tight, or does it get boring after a few months for you?

Did the same thing back in January with 10 meals and honestly the boredom hits around month two, so I just swap out one recipe every few weeks to keep it fresh. Still saves me damn near $40 a week, which is worth eating the same chicken and rice a few times.
