Pulled the trigger on a $500 Miata with a blown head gasket over a $700 running Civic, and I'm second guessing myself
I bought the Miata last Saturday in Sacramento because the body was clean and the guy said it just needed a head gasket, but now I'm staring at the engine bay wondering if I should've grabbed the Civic that already ran. The Miata's got 187k miles and I've already dropped $80 on a timing kit, so I'm kind of committed now. Anyone else ever pick the fun car over the smart car and regret it, or did it work out?

Wait, only 500 bucks for a clean body Miata? That's wild. Around here people want 2 grand for one with a blown motor and rust holes you could fit your fist through. You got a deal even if the head gasket job turns into a nightmare.
