Helped a guy swap a junkyard engine in a parking lot

Met this dude at a Pick-N-Pull in Phoenix who was trying to pull a 4-cylinder out of a 94 Civic with nothing but a socket set. I lent him my breaker bar and we had the motor out in 45 minutes. Best part was he drove that car home the same day.

Honestly I gotta push back on the "sitting in the driveway messing with settings" thing. That sounds like the part where buyers remorse really starts to kick in for me. Like you finally get it home and suddenly you realize you're staring at a big purchase that you barely even got to pick out because some dealer pushed you into it. The actual best part is when you've done your research and you've been negotiating for weeks and you finally get that call that your exact spec came in. Walking onto the lot knowing you've already won the deal and you're just there to sign and drive off. That moment has way more feeling to it than sitting in a driveway fiddling with siriusxm presets.

Wow I gotta say that's a take I haven't heard before. Most people I know would kill to have a car that's reliable enough to just drive home the same day without worrying about it. But I get what you're saying about the experience being part of it. There's something about the process of picking out the exact one you want and taking time with it instead of rushing. But honestly I think the real "best part" nobody talks about is the period right after you bring it home when you can just sit in the driveway and mess with all the settings and features without anyone bothering you. That's where the real magic happens in my book.
