Warning: that $30 peel and stick backsplash is a trap
I thought I was being clever saving cash on my kitchen makeover last month, so I grabbed those cheap peel and stick tiles from the box store. It looked decent for about three days, then the corners started curling up like old bacon. The adhesive just let go near the stove heat and the grout lines never lined up no matter how patient I was. By the end of the week I ripped it all off and wasted $30 plus half a Saturday. The wall behind it also has sticky residue that won't come off without a scraper and some serious elbow grease. Has anyone else tried the slightly pricier brand with the good reviews, or should I just hire someone for real tile?
