Tried to paint a single accent wall for 8 hours
I bought a $15 gallon of clearance paint last week to do one wall in my living room and thought it would take maybe 2 hours tops. Got home and realized the paint was mixing badly because it had separated in the can from sitting on the shelf too long. Anyone else spend an entire afternoon stirring paint and still end up with weird streaks?

@xena_anderson you're spot on about the drill mixer. I did the same thing with a clearance can and just kept stirring by hand for way too long. Once I borrowed a drill attachment from my neighbor, it took maybe 2 minutes and the paint was perfect.

Spent an entire afternoon stirring paint" - girl same but lemme tell you that's not really your fault. The paint separating is normal for old stock but you probably didn't need to stir it that long. Actually the real trick is you gotta pour it into a bigger bucket and use a drill mixer if you have one. Hand stirring a gallon that's been sitting forever just doesn't cut it. The weird streaks are probably from the pigment not being mixed in all the way, not from stirring too much.
