My old kitchen cabinets looked so sad until I tried something with leftover coffee
I had these really dark wood cabinets that felt heavy and dated, and I didn't have the money to replace them or even buy proper stain. I read online you could use instant coffee to make a wood stain, so I mixed a whole jar of Folgers with some hot water and tested it on the inside of a door. It gave the wood this warm, rich tone that totally brightened up the room for maybe $5. Has anyone else tried a weird kitchen hack like this that actually turned out okay?

I always thought those coffee stain ideas were just Pinterest nonsense, but my sister did her whole dining table with espresso grounds and it looks amazing. She mixed it with a little vinegar and it gave the pine this cool, weathered gray color. Might have to try your cabinet trick next time I'm feeling brave.

Actually it's the tannins in the coffee that do the staining...
