Husband swears peel and stick tile saved our bathroom, I think the $22 grout pen did all the work

We redid the guest bath over Memorial Day weekend and the before and after photos look identical in the spots where only the pen was used. Are the stick tiles actually holding up for anyone past a year, or am I right that it's just the grout trick doing the heavy lifting?
