Saw a guy at the Piggly Wiggly in Mobile stretch 2 pounds of ground beef into 9 meals and I've been doing it since
Ran into him in the checkout line about 6 weeks ago. He had 2 pounds of beef and a cart full of rice, dry beans, and frozen veg. He told me he browns it all at once, then splits it into 9 small containers with the rice and beans mixed in. I tried it that week. My grocery bill went from $140 to $85 for the two of us. The trick is seasoning each batch different so it doesn't feel like the same meal. Curious if anyone else preps a protein this way or if there's a cheaper base than rice and beans.
