The fixed 6 foot cable thing is real. I've gone through three detachable chargers in two years because the connection point at the brick gets loose and then it just stops charging unless you hold it at a weird angle. The one-piece ones don't have that weak spot since there's nothing to plug and unplug a thousand times. $75 is a rough way to find out but at least you know now.
