Pro tip: the $2 garage sale crockpot fixed my heater core flush

Everyone on the forums swears you need a $90 pressure kit, but a guy named Daryl at the Pick n Pull in Amarillo showed me you can just circulate hot water with vinegar through the core using any old kitchen crockpot and a $6 fountain pump. Ran it for 40 minutes, backflushed it twice, and my heat went from lukewarm to burning my hand on the vent. The crud that came out looked like coffee grounds. Anyone else rigging up kitchen stuff for car jobs, or am I the only one raiding Goodwill for tools?
