Vent: Tried power mixing mortar vs hand mixing and my arms are still sore 3 days later

I had to pick between lugging my mixer to a tight backyard job in Denver or just mixing 15 bags by hand for a small retaining wall. Went with hand mixing to save setup time and honestly it was a mistake. My forearms are wrecked and the mortar felt a little stiffer than when I use the mixer, had to add extra water to keep it workable. Anyone else just refuse to break out the mixer on small jobs even when you know you should?

Last year I did the same thing for a little garden pathway and ended up with a wrist that made a cracking noise for a week. Brought the mixer for the next one and it was fine but then the hose split so I was running back and forth to the spigot anyway.
