TIL that a standard brick weighs about 4.5 pounds. I was moving pallets at the yard and my back just figured it was less.

Honestly, a good back brace made all the difference when I was hauling heavy stuff. Took a while to learn that lesson though.

Back braces can help for sure, but @troy996, it's really important to know they're more of a reminder than a fix. They don't actually make your back muscles stronger on their own. In my experience, using one all the time can even let your core get weaker because you start to rely on it. The real lesson is to use the brace while you're also learning proper lifting form and building up your strength. That way you protect yourself now and get better for the long run. It's a tool, not a solution.
