Felt like a monster choosing which of my two Monstera deliciosa to give away
My apartment's just too small, so I had to pick between the one I grew from a cutting and a bigger one I bought in Denver. Kept the cutting because it felt more 'mine', but man, I still miss that big, glossy leaf on the other one. Anyone else get weirdly sentimental over a specific plant?

It's funny how we end up putting stories onto objects, you know? I get that with a chipped coffee mug my friend gave me, I'd save it over a perfect new one any day. It's like the history of a thing, the time you put into it, becomes part of its value. I even feel bad throwing out a worn-out pair of shoes if we've been through a lot together. The plant you grew from a cutting has your own history baked right into it, which makes it harder to let go.
