Blew up my greenhouse fan after ignoring humidity ratings

I rigged up a cheap box fan in my greenhouse near Asheville last July, didn't check the humidity rating. It seized up in 3 days and roasted my prized peperomias. Anyone else ever wreck gear by skipping the fine print on environmental specs?

Three days? I learned that lesson with a chainsaw in the rain last fall, same exact trap with ignoring the small print.

You ever try to dry a chainsaw with a hairdryer after it got soaked? Asking for a friend who definitely didn't do that last week.
