Talked to a retired bookbinder at my bar last week and he said my glue choice was ruining my work
He took one look at my copy of Huckleberry Finn and said 'that PVA you're using will crack in 5 years flat, switch to wheat paste for the spine,' and now I'm sitting here wondering how much stuff I've already messed up, has anyone else had to redo their early projects?

Hang on to that binder's advice, he sounds like he knows his stuff. I mean, it's funny how one random person can make you rethink everything you thought you knew. It's like that time a mechanic told me I'd been over-tightening my lug nuts for years and was probably damaging my rims without knowing it. You just assume you're doing it right until someone with real experience taps you on the shoulder. Probably healthier to catch it now than after the whole book falls apart, at least you can save the rest of your projects.

It's always the small stuff like this that makes you realize how many things we're all just winging and hoping for the best. There's probably a dozen other tools or materials you're using wrong without even knowing it.
