The moderator who said 'no cussing' killed our book club debates
Our group's moderator in Austin banned profanity after one heated argument about a memoir, thinking it would keep things civil. Instead, everyone started dancing around their points with softer words and the real opinions just vanished from the room. Has anyone else seen a speech rule actually shut down honest discussion in their club?
