Shoutout to the lady at my book club who brought her 1992 reading journal last night
She had a whole page ranting about how The Firm by John Grisham was "too fast paced" and she "couldn't trust the main character." Fast forward 33 years and she spent 20 minutes tonight telling us how she still hates that book because of one scene on page 147. Has anyone else ever held a grudge against a specific book for decades?

Oh man, I'm still mad at a book I read in 8th grade. The Giver. Everyone talks about how deep it is but I literally threw it across the room when I finished because of that ending. I wanted to know what happened to Jonas and Gabriel so bad and instead I got a vague snow scene?? 25 years later and I still get annoyed just thinking about it.

Hate it when stories just leave you hanging like that...
