My grandma told me to never skip the classics in our book club picks back in 2019. I finally get it.

Right? They're classics for a reason.

Yeah but sometimes classics get a free pass just for being old... like that one book we all had to read in school that was just a slog. @tarab54, take Moby Dick for example. Endless pages about ropes and whale fat. Or Great Expectations, where nothing happens for way too long. Being a classic doesn't always mean it's good or fun to read now.

Honestly, didn't you used to think they were all boring? Tbh, I had to actually read one for fun to get it.
