Grinder kicked back mid-fit up and nearly turned my weld into abstract art

Was up on a tank job outside Gary last Tuesday, grinding a bevel on a 6 inch nozzle. The disc caught a lip and the whole grinder jumped out of my hands, spun across the platform and bounced off the fire watch's hard hat. He just looked at me and said 'nice throw, Picasso.' We both checked my glove, no cuts, but the grinder landed next to a bucket of soapy water and shorted out. Took me 45 minutes to find a spare corded one in the gang box. Anyone else have a tool decide to fight back on a tight spot like a ladder or scaffold?
