Can we talk about using a 3/4 inch drive on those big flange bolts?

I used my 1 inch impact on a 2 inch bolt in a Houston refinery and it just rounded the head off. What's the right tool for that size, a hydraulic torque wrench?

That 2 inch bolt is a monster. Were you using a standard socket or did you have a proper heavy duty impact socket on there? The wall thickness makes a huge difference.

Nah man, I've busted plenty of big bolts with a regular socket. Sometimes you just gotta lean into it and let the impact gun sing. That wall thickness talk is overrated for most jobs.
