My uncle who runs a comic shop in Cincinnati got me to try solo board games at 41 and I owe him an apology

I used to give my uncle Dave so much grief about playing board games by himself at his shop after closing. He runs a place called Origins Comics and Games off Vine Street and he is 58 years old, plays through campaigns of Gloomhaven solo about 3 nights a week. Last month he handed me his copy of Arkham Horror and said to just try one session alone before I made fun of it again. I did it and finished at 2am, and honestly it was more fun than half the 4 player game nights I have been to this year. Does anyone else here play solo, and if so what is your go to when nobody else can make it?
