Spent 4 hours forging a hidden tang knife when a guy at the Elkhart County show told me to just buy a $30 blank and grind it
I stuck with the forge and hand hammered the whole thing out of a coil spring, and while it took way longer than grinding a blank I ended up with a knife that holds an edge better than anything I've made off a premade bar, so now I'm wondering if I'm just wasting time or if hand forging really makes that much difference to you guys?
