Shoutout to the old timer who told me I was using too much flux
I had a chat with a retired farrier at the county fair last weekend, and he said I was drowning my welds in flux - turns out he was right after all. I cut back to half what I was using, and my joints came out cleaner with less cleanup time. Has anyone else had to unlearn a bad habit from a pro who called you out?

Half the flux you were using before? Man, that is wild. I bet you thought you were doing it right the whole time too. It is crazy how sometimes more of something just makes a bigger mess instead of helping. Did he give you any other tips that ended up changing your whole setup?

Oh man, I just read flux can actually cause corrosion if you go too heavy on it.
