Pro tip: Your forge blower belt will snap at 9pm on a Friday, and here's how I got out of it
I was finishing up a set of 6 fireplace tools in my garage shop last Friday when my blower belt just gave out. No warning, no fraying, just a clean snap and suddenly my coal fire started going cold on me. I had a finished poker and tongs sitting there half-normalized, so I couldn't just walk away. I ended up pulling the belt off my wife's old treadmill in the basement (she hasn't touched it in 2 years, I swear) and it fit almost perfect with a little trimming. Got the fire back up to temp in about 15 minutes and finished the set by 11. It's been running smooth for a week now but I know it's a band aid. What do you all keep on hand for belt backups, and is there a specific size or type you've had good luck with?

Treadmill belts are junk for this, mine stretched out in 3 days flat.
