My old power hammer decided to retire itself mid-project
I was working on a big leaf spring knife for a client in Springfield last Thursday, and the main drive belt on my 50 pound Anyang just snapped with a loud pop. The hammer head dropped straight into the die block and got stuck, so I had to spend the next two hours carefully prying it out with a crowbar and a lot of penetrating oil. Anyone have a good source for heavy duty V-belts that won't give out after a year?

Honestly a two hour breakdown for a snapped belt seems like a lot. That's basic shop stuff. Pop the guard, loosen the motor mount, slide the new belt on. Even if the head dropped, a few good whacks with a brass drift usually frees it up. Sounds like maybe there's a bigger alignment problem you're not talking about.

That's not a V-belt on an Anyang, it's a flat drive belt. You need a specific width and length of heavy leather or synthetic flat belt. McMaster-Carr has good options, but measure the old one exactly first.
