Tried a 24 hour show marathon with zero breaks, big mistake

Last Saturday I banged through all 10 episodes of that new true crime doc in one sitting, no food breaks, just coffee and the couch. By episode 7 I started seeing patterns that weren't there, like connecting the suspect to my neighbor just because they both drive white vans. Has anyone else hit a wall where your brain starts inventing plot twists that never pay off?

Episode 6 is usually where the brain checks out and starts filling gaps with whatever random junk is floating around in your head. I did a similar marathon with a space documentary once, and by hour 14 I was convinced the narrator was secretly talking about my landlord. The real problem isn't the show though, it's that your brain runs on glucose and you gave it nothing but coffee. That's like trying to drive a car with no gas and wondering why the steering feels weird. Next time grab a bag of pretzels at least, it won't stop the false connections but you'll feel less insane when you catch yourself.
