Binged 5 seasons of a show before realizing I had the wrong audio track

So I just finished all 5 seasons of The Expanse on Prime last week and thought the dialogue sounded weird the whole time. Turns out I had the 5.1 surround track playing through my TV speakers and it was dropping half the audio. My buddy came over and pointed it out after 10 minutes and now I have to rewatch everything. Has anyone else gone way too long with a setting jacked up like that?

Man I've done something pretty similar and it still bugs me when I think about it. Watched like half a season of Stranger Things once with the brightness and contrast all screwed up on my TV, thought it was just supposed to look all dark and moody like that. My roommate finally asked why everything looked like a cave and I felt so dumb. Gotta be honest though, rewatching with the right settings actually made me appreciate how much detail I missed the first time. Hope your second watch goes better than mine did, at least now you know what the actors actually sound like haha.
