Had to re-true a wheel in a parking lot after a pothole got me in Detroit last week
I was riding home from work and hit this nasty pothole on Gratiot Avenue. Felt the rim wobble instantly. Didn't have my stand or truing stand with me, just a spoke wrench I keep in my bag. Spent like 20 minutes crouched next to a dumpster trying to get it straight enough to ride. It held up for the rest of the commute but now I'm wondering if I should just replace the rim or if it's fine. Anyone else had to do emergency wheel fixes on the roadside?

Read that rim tape can shift after hard hits, might be worth a look.

Wait actually you might wanna check the rim tape and spoke tension too. Truing it in the parking lot is fine but if the rim got a flat spot from the pothole it might never hold true right. I'd at least check the rim for cracks around the spoke holes before you decide to replace it.
