I was driving 20 minutes to a store that charged me $1 more for the same stuff
Last month I finally added up what I was paying at the corner store near my apartment versus the big grocery store across town. I did the math on just 10 things I buy every week (milk, eggs, bread, coffee, cheese, etc) and it came to $14 more at the corner store. For two years I told myself I was saving gas and time, but 20 minutes each way, twice a week, is like 35 hours a year. The thing that tipped me off was when the cashier at the corner store said "see you tomorrow" and I realized I was there almost every single day. Now I do one big run on Sunday and only hit the corner store for emergencies. Anyone else figured out they were paying a "lazy tax" without knowing it?

20 minutes each way twice a week is closer to 70 hours.
