Hot take: my $0.79 scratch and dent shelf run beat every coupon app I've tried
So there's this little grocery outlet off Route 9 in Poughkeepsie that I never bothered with because the parking lot looks sketchy, and I finally walked in on a Tuesday morning two weeks ago. They had a whole rack of dented cereal boxes and torn pasta bags marked down, and I grabbed eleven items for $9.42 total. The trick is that they price the damaged stuff by weight, not by the label, so a crushed box of Cheerios that normally runs $5 was like 60 cents. I also found a case of expired-in-two-days yogurt for $1.50 and froze half of it for smoothies. What got me was the cashier telling me Tuesday mornings are when the truck comes and the dent rack gets restocked, because everyone else shows up Friday when it's picked over. I've been back twice since and spent under $40 for what would've been $130 at my regular place. Does anyone else have a weird day or time that works at their local spot, or is it just luck for me?
