Everyone says use a spreadsheet for coupons, but I went back to a $1 notebook
I used to have this whole setup in Google Sheets, like 14 tabs for different stores and a color code system that took me 20 minutes every Sunday to update. Then about 4 months ago I sat down at the kitchen table in my apartment in Columbus and just started writing deals in a cheap dollar store notebook instead. Here's the thing nobody wants to hear: I miss way fewer deals now, because I actually see the paper sitting there on the counter instead of forgetting to open an app. My spreadsheet had $47 in savings tracked last month while the notebook had $61, and I didn't do anything different at the store. I think the popular opinion that digital tools always save you money is just wrong for some people. Has anyone else switched back to pen and paper and seen a real jump in what they keep?
