Cutting my own hair with a $25 clipper set for 2 years before I checked the guard sizes
Sat in the bathroom mirror for about 40 minutes every few weeks hacking at the sides with the #2 guard on, wondering why it always looked a little off. Then a buddy who cuts his own hair asked me what length I was actually going for and I had no clue, I was just going off vibes. Turns out a $12 set of extra guards off Amazon would have fixed the whole thing and I would have saved myself a bunch of crooked fades. I have a whole drawer of clipper stuff now but I'm still not sure if I'm using the right comb for the top. Anyone got a simple rule for guard numbers or do you just eyeball it?
