Spent $180 on that fancy clipper oil versus the $4 stuff from the drugstore

Been using the cheap clipper oil for two years, no issues. Last month I dropped $180 on a premium kit with the scented oil and a special applicator because the rep at the Barber Expo swore it would extend blade life. First week, the oil gunked up my adjuster on my Wahl Senior, had to take it apart and clean it. Anyone else shell out for the fancy product and just go back to the basic one?

Funny you mention that, my cousin spent big on "premium" trimmer grease once and ended up using it to lube his bike chain. The stuff smelled like a candle shop exploded in his garage. Never touched his clippers with it, went right back to the drugstore brand.

Guessing his garage still smells like a Yankee Candle threw up in there every time it gets warm. Man, that's the thing about "premium" gear, sometimes you're just paying for fancy packaging and a weird scent. Bet his bike chain felt silky smooth though, so at least the upgrade paid off somewhere.
