Hit client number 5,000 today and had to sit down for a minute
Been cutting hair at my shop on Division Street since 1998 and just realized this morning I've done over 5,000 regulars in that time. My dad's old ledger book had the same thing, names and dates going back to when he opened in 1971, and I never thought I'd get near his numbers. Feels strange knowing half the guys in those chairs now weren't even born when I started. Any other old timers keep a count like this or am I just sentimental?

That ledger is probably worth more than the chair at this point. My own count is just a bald spot I keep staring at in the mirror.
