oh man, i feel this so much. i learned that lesson the hard way too. i used to think wet hair would make for a cleaner cut, especially for fading, but it just creates total chaos. the clippers pull, skip, and leave this really choppy, uneven mess that takes forever to fix. it's like the water makes the hair heavy and sticky or something, just wrecks the whole blade action. trust me, i've had to redo more than a few haircuts because i was impatient and didn't let things dry first. your barber was absolutely right, it's one of those old school tips that just holds up every single time.

...and the worst part is, you don't even know you messed up until the hair starts drying. i did this with a friend's kid once, thought i was being clever doing a fade on damp hair. looked fine for like 10 minutes, then started drying and the whole thing went patchy and stupid. had to basically buzz it all down to a 1 and pretend it was on purpose. kid's mom was not thrilled.
