Remembering my old clay pots versus switching to fabric grow bags

I mean, I used those heavy clay pots for years on my Denver balcony, idk, they just looked nice. Last spring I switched to 5 gallon fabric grow bags for my tomatoes and peppers, and the difference is crazy, the roots just don't get soggy anymore. Has anyone else made a switch like that and seen a big change in how things grow?

What, you had clay pots on a Denver balcony? That's wild. Those things must have weighed a ton. I can't imagine moving them around, especially with the wind up there. The fabric bags make so much more sense. The root thing is no joke, they really do just breathe better.

My old terracotta pots were a total pain to move, and I was sure the weight meant they were better. The fabric bags looked flimsy at first. But my basil used to always get yellow leaves in the clay, and now it's just green and bushy. It's hard to argue with that kind of result.

Denver wind with clay pots is a death wish. My buddy lost a whole planter off a third floor ledge. Switched to bags after that. They just don't tip over.
