Serious question, I hit 12 straight failed loaves and kept going, does that count as a win or a problem
Every single one came out dense as a brick because my kitchen in Boise runs cold and I refused to check the dough temp until loaf 9. Once I put a thermometer in the water the next 3 rose fine, so the streak was really just me being stubborn. Anyone else keep a fail count going, or do you stop after 2 and change something?
Does 12 fails really teach you more than 3 would have? I'd say the stubborn streak cost you 9 loaves of flour and a whole day of waiting. Think about it: after loaf 2 came out dense you already knew something was off, and by loaf 4 the cold kitchen was the only thing left standing. You didn't learn anything new after that, you just proved you could take the hit. A smart baker stops at 2, checks the water temp, and bakes the third one right. You turned a quick fix into a full day of bricks.
