Just realized chilling cookie dough for 24 hours is not just hype
I always thought overnight chilling was a waste of time until I baked two batches of chocolate chip cookies, one with dough straight from the mixer and one left in my fridge for a full day. The chilled batch spread way less and had a deeper, richer flavor that totally changed the game. Who else has a baking step they thought was pointless but turned out to be a real win?

Chilling the dough is a total game changer, right?

Totally makes me think about how waiting makes lots of things better. Like how a stew tastes way richer the next day, or how paint needs time to dry before you see the real color. We're always rushing stuff, but chilling cookie dough is a perfect little reminder that some steps just can't be skipped. It's a small act of patience that pays off big time.

Yeah, @mason283 is right, it's a total game changer. I used to skip it too, thinking it was just for looks. But the flour really soaks up the wet stuff when it chills, so your cookies don't turn into flat pancakes. The flavor gets way better because everything has time to mix together in the fridge. It's the difference between a good cookie and a great one. That wait is the most important step.
