Saw a 1999 ad saying we would all have flying cars by 2015, and it sent me down a rabbit hole
I always brushed off those old magazine clips as harmless fun until I found a 1999 Popular Mechanics page at my dad's place in Denver that said airports would be obsolete by 2015 because we would all fly ourselves. What really got me was a quote from a Boeing guy in 2000 saying personal aircraft would be as common as cars within 10 years, and here we are still stuck in traffic on I-25. So what old tech prediction made you actually stop and think, not just laugh?

Airports would be obsolete by 2015" is hilarious because Denver's airport only got bigger since then. Honestly, the flying car dream always dies the second you think about who would be piloting them. Put the average driver in the sky and just watch what happens.
