My friend told me I'm wasting money on game DLC and honestly he might have a point

So I was at a party last Saturday and this guy I know from work starts ranting about how people who buy every DLC for a game are just paying for the illusion of content. He mentioned how his buddy spent like $120 on all the extra stuff for a racing game (Horizon something?) and barely touched half of it. I got defensive at first because I do buy season passes sometimes, but the more I think about it, the more I wonder if I'm just buying FOMO instead of actual fun. Has anyone else stepped back and realized they bought a bunch of add-ons they never finished?

Hear you loud and clear. I've got a stack of half-finished DLC packs sitting on my hard drive that I bought on a whim and never touched again.
