Hot take: I thought motion smoothing was fine for 2 years and then a dude in Cleveland asked me to watch one movie with it off
I swore my buddy was being dramatic about his TV settings for almost 2 years, since my whole setup is 4K with every auto feature on. He paused Mad Max on Fury Road at the 40 minute mark and switched the motion smoothing off, and the war rig suddenly looked like real film instead of a soap opera. For 3 weeks I left mine on out of pride, then caved and turned every one of those settings off. Now the only thing I want to know is how many people are still running the store demo mode and telling themselves it looks better.

But that smoooth look is what I paid for, no way I'm turning it off.
