Crossed 500 hours in Baldur's Gate 3 and finally admit I was wrong about turn-based combat

I used to be one of those guys who swore turn based RPGs were boring and slow. Action or nothing. Then I kept seeing people talk about the crazy stuff they pulled off in fights. Stacking barrels, shoving enemies off cliffs, weird spell combos. After 500 hours I get it now. The pause lets you think through the chaos instead of just spamming buttons. Has anyone else had a genre click for them way later than expected?

Did you ever try stacking 20 barrels of oil around a dragon before lighting the fuse? That moment alone sold me on the slower pace.
